The Mazda MX-5 Speedster Evolution will make its debut at SEMA 2016. Ahead of its in-the-flesh debut Mazda has released a teaser image and some details about the concept car.
As its name implies, the MX-5 Speedster Evolution takes the MX-5 Speedster, which made its debut at SEMA last year, and takes it up a notch or three.
The company claims that it has managed to strip out another 45 kilograms from the car, meaning that the Speedster Evolution now weighs almost bang on 900 kilograms or 2000 pounds in the old money.
While last year’s car was painted an eye catching shade of blue, the Evolution is a little more demure in its white paint job.
The Evolution has also traded last year’s 16-inch alloy wheels and 225/50 Kumho Ecsta tyres with neon yellow branding for a new set of black 18-inch rims and 225/40 BF Goodrich G-Force Sport tyres.
From the one side-on shot, it’s hard to see what details other details have been changed, but we can just make out new graphics for the head- and tail-lights.
